Airport Terminals

Print print

Modern terminals facilitate the flow of passengers and their baggage to and from the aircraft. Technical services have a serious impact on the architectural lay-out: technical plant and baggage handling facilities may occupy up to 30% of the total floor area. That is why technical planning is required in an early stage of conceptual design. Furthermore, terminal lay-outs shall be flexible, because the only certainty you have is that current requirements will change in the future.

Recent changes are:

  • Full segregation of arrival and departure passengers
  • Mandatory 100% Hold Baggage screening
  • Baggage Reconciliation

On-going developments are:

  • E-ticketing
  • Self Service Check-in, Internet Check-in
  • RFID tracing of bags and passengers
  • Biometric security screening

Our expertise includes:

  • Baggage Handling Systems, with in-line security screening, baggage sorting and early baggage storage
  • Information and Communication systems, usually with a common network for voice, video and data communication and dedicated special systems for passenger information, terminal operations, security and facility management
