Project description
Design and construction of a new terminal building including power supply and distribution, water supply, food court facilities and air-conditioning. Application of special systems such as baggage handling and hand baggage screening is also included.
Special details
The island of Sint Maarten is frequently subject to hurricanes, earthquakes and heavy rainfall. This not only has consequences for the structure and the installations, but also requires the provision of protocols to make the airport operational again soon after such disasters occur.
Involvement Deerns
Deerns was responsible for the design of mechanical, electrical and transportation installations for the terminal building.
Deerns provided preliminary and final design, specifications, cost estimations and specifications.
Furthermore, preparation and assistance for tendering and construction.
